The importance of a representative in the EU for Swiss companies
The art. 3 para. 2 of the General Data Protection Regulation sets out the conditions under which European data protection law also applies to Swiss companies. In this case, art. 27 of the regulation requires, subject to specific exceptions, the Swiss company acting as data controller to appoint a representative within the European Union.
